Ich liebe Wochenmärkte. Nicht nur das viele leckere Essen hat es mir angetan, sondern auch diese ganz spezielle Atmosphäre, wenn man von einem Stand zum nächsten schlendert und immer mal wieder etwas schönes entdeckt, das noch in den Einkaufskorb passt. Die nachfolgenden Fotos sind alle auf dem Wochenmarkt in Lingen entstanden, der jeweils Mittwochs und Samstags auf dem Marktplatz stattfindet.
I love farmer's market. Not is there only good food to discovery, but also a very special ambience, when you stroll around the different stalls and always find something that has to be added to your shopping bag. All the following pictures were made in my hometown Lingen, where the farmer's market is hold every wednesday and saturday.
So viel leckeres Obst findet man selten an einem Ort. Die Kirschen wirkten riesig und die Erdbeeren zum Anbeißen lecker. Da wird es wohl bald eine schmackhafte Marmelade geben.
Mein Lieblingsstand ist der sogenannte "Münsteraner". Dort gibt es den leckersten Schafskäse, die besten eingelegten Tomaten und eine riesige Auswahl an tollen Oliven.
My favourite stall is called the "Münsteraner". They have the best Feta and dried tomatoes as well as a huge collection of different olives.
Ein weiterer meiner Lieblinge ist der Käsestand der Familie Hemmen. Hier gibt es alle möglichen Käsesorten, die das Herz begehrt. Heute habe ich ganz ausgefallen einen Mimolette gekauft. Der ist so besonders, dass er bald vielleicht nicht mehr in die USA importiert werden darf. Ihr könnt ja mal nachschauen warum ;-)
Another one of my favourites is the cheese-stall from Family Hemmen. They have all the cheeses you dream of in your sleep. Today I bought myself a Mimolette. This cheese is something special and this speciality causes some discussion in the USA. If you want to know more, you should google it ;-)
Und das schöne am Markt ist, dass man öfters auch mal neue Stände entdeckt wie diesen hier. Ich konnte nicht widerstehen und musste mir ein paar der getrockneten Mangos mitnehmen. Die sind einfach so lecker.
And the best thing about farmer's market: you always discovery something new like this stall. I couldn't resist and had to buy some of the dried mangos. They are so good!
